According to the NIBS (National Institute of Building Sciences, architecture is an important tool in attracting and retaining the best doctors, nurses, HMO’s and insurance  plans as well as the most patients.  The St. Louis Business Journal interviewed three local architects to talk about current trends in designing for health care.  St. Clare Hospital was conceived as a “Hospital of the Future,” with major design modifications and improvements to patient rooms.  After interviews with the staff and patients at St. Joseph’s to find out what to include in the new hospital, the client, along with HGA and Mackey Mitchell created a model hospital for achieving an ideal patient experience.
