Shaping Our Buildings to Shape Our Students

In the July/August 2012 issue of the Talking Stick (ACUHO-I’s authoritative source for campus housing), Mackey Mitchell shares its housing expertise in an article titled “Shaping Our Buildings to Shape Our Students.” The 8-page feature which begins on page 27, explores how “building design, like campus housing as a whole, can help support and challenge students.”
A wide range of topics are addressed in the article, ranging from the effects of light, sound, shape and color, to the design of “sticky spaces and pods” which can be incorporated into building design to encourage social opportunities and interactions.
