The student union idea traces back to England when in 1815 the Cambridge Union Society was established as a debate club. Two hundred years in the making, today’s student centers foster community by creating sustainable environments where all are invited to gather, celebrate, collaborate, participate and learn from one another. Places where leadership is fostered and understanding occurs, student centers connect those who seek opportunities to engage, inspire, and make a difference. More than being the social heart of campus, student centers are a reflection of how an institution regards its students. Requiring the maximum imagination and care, great student unions are tailor-made.
