Senior University Housing Director Steve Harrison says “it will be a fantastic place to come.” The largest construction project to date on  Coastal Carolina University’s campus will soon be opening to 1,200 students.

According to Harrison, the university was looking for a place that would have the charm of a comfortable southern home, helping prepare students for life after college. The Georgian-style design features a large outdoor pavilion for special events to further strengthen the university’s tradition of community interaction fueled by more than 120 student clubs and organizations. The university has put a premium on community with the goal of creating a new attitude and spirit on Coastal Carolinia’s campus. Mackey Mitchell’s project team included Steve Emer, Kyle Wagner, Matthew Roeder, Beth Kutterer, Lea McRoberts and Avik Guha. Quackenbush served as the Architect-of-Record.
