Attracting World-Class Students

Groundbreaking took place on August 8, 2013 at Texas Tech University in Lubbock Texas. This LEED anticipated student housing complex, scheduled for completion in fall 2014, will offer new housing ideally suited for graduate and upper-level students. The $54.8 million project will provide 435 new beds, as well as courtyards, a 5,000SF retail and food service facility,  landscape enhancements, and public art.

The goal is to attract world-class students as the university continues to expand. Barnes Gromatzky Kosarek Architects and Mackey Mitchell Architects designed the complex with Whiting-Turner Contracting Company as part of the team. Mackey Mitchell’s project team includes Dan Mitchell, John Burse, Steve Emer, Gregory Keppel, Lea McRoberts, Nick Naeger, Clay Phillips and Clint Smith.
