Based on the success of Westminster’s Mueller student dining center completed in the fall of 2008, the college engaged Mackey Mitchell to design their new student housing.  With a compressed construction schedule of one year, the team evaluated three different sites, settling on a location just a short walk from the heart of campus. The buildings blend with the nearby residences and are arranged to preserve the park-like setting while remaining easily identifiable as part of the college. Pathways winding through the lawn establish a strong sense of  “front yard.”  Westminster Grove  has received exceptional reviews from the client on both the aesthetics and the speed with which the project was completed.  Students are delighted with their energy efficient appliances, the level of privacy and quietness, and the size of the townhouses.
