Life-Long Learning

In keeping with one of Mackey Mitchell’s gulding valuesof  “life-long learning,” staff members get together each month during lunch hour to view and discuss a wide range of topics presented by TED, a non-profit organization dedicated to Ideas Worth Spreading.  TEDTALKS  started out in 1984 as a conference which brought people together from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, and Design. Since then, its scope has rapidly attracted a global audience in the millions. The reaction was so enthusiastic that the TED website has been re-engineered around the talks, with the goal of giving everyone on-demand acess to the world’s most inspiring voices. Mackey Mitchell’s discussions are led by  Avik Guha who selects a variety of topics based on staff recommendations. The subjects are as engaging as they are wide-ranging. Those who participate come away from their lunch-hour with some thought-provoking information.
