The St. Louis Post Dispatch ran a story providing some fun facts about the sports events, performances, and concessions (over 5 million ounces of popcorn sold) in recognition of the Chaifetz Arena’s fifth year in operation.  When Saint Louis University decided to build a state-of-the-art entertainment venue, they commissioned Mackey Mitchell Architects and sports design consultant Sink Combs Dethlefs to create a building that would make SLU competitive with other universities of the same size and stature. Chaifetz Arena has been cited as a good example of a successful collaboration among the architect, operator, contractor, and owner with the common goal of providing a first-class multipurpose sports and entertainment arena.
