The Master Builders’ Association announced its 2014 Building Excellence Awards in a reception drawing more than 1,000 attendees. The University of Pittsburgh’s Mark A. Nordenberg Residence Hall was recognized in the construction category for projects over $25 million. Located in the Oakland Civic Center Historic District, this LEED Silver project incorporates thematic elements of surrounding historical buildings while meeting the needs of today’s students.

Working with P J Dick Contractors, Mackey Mitchell’s team included Dan Mitchell, Greg Frankenfeld, Nick Naeger, and Gregory Keppel.  Presented annually, the Building Excellence Awards are the highest and most sought-after commercial construction industry awards in the Pennsylvania region.
