Mackey Mitchell Architects Opens Office in Dallas, Texas

Mackey Mitchell By: Mackey Mitchell

Since 1968, Mackey Mitchell Architects has created spaces across the country that amplify human potential through innovative design while continuously expanding to serve new geographic regions. Following the firm’s 50th anniversary in 2018, we are excited to reach another milestone with the opening of a new office location in Dallas, TX. This is the firm’s fourth office joining locations in St. Louis, MO, Asheville, NC, and Lawrence, KS. With several clients in Texas and many more in the southern region, the location of the new office allows us to better serve those clients’ needs and increase our contributions in the fast-growing state.

The Dallas office is led by MMA Principal Merrilee Hertlein and Senior Associate Greg Frankenfeld. Their leadership ensures that the new office is an extension of MMA’s client-focused reputation and forward-thinking practices. Located in the newly renovated Adolphus Tower in the Main Street District of downtown Dallas, the building has a unique connection to MMA and our hometown of St. Louis as it is named after Adolphus Busch, the founder of Anheuser-Busch and an important figure in the history of St. Louis.

“After many months of exploring the amazing city of Dallas, the main street district of downtown was the perfect place to call home and the revitalization that is happening in this historic area is exciting to be a part of,” says Merrilee Hertlein, Principal. “Situated near the Kirby building and connected to the Adolphus Hotel, we feel historically connected to our roots in St. Louis combined with that laid-back Texan flair.”

MMA’s notable experience in the region includes projects at Texas Tech University, the University of North Texas, and Abilene Christian University, among others, with more than $100 million of work currently in progress.

“Mackey Mitchell’s pursuit of growth – in all aspects of our practice – has always been inextricably linked to our fundamental focus on serving our clients at the highest level,” says Steve Emer, MMA President. “Expanding into Texas represents an exciting evolution that will help us continue to create vibrant spaces that give shape to the vision of our current and future clients.”
