John Burse Wins AIA Drawing Awards

This year’s AIA St. Louis Chapter Design Awards gala was held September 22nd at the MOTO Museum to  celebrate the year’s best design projects and also recognize the artistic talents demonstrated by many of the area’s talented architects. This year’s jury chair for the “drawings category”  was Professor Leslie Lasky of Washington University in St. Louis Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts. Among those chosen to receive awards were John Burse, whose watercolor drawings earned an Honor Award for the Wait Chapel at Wake Forest University (left), and an Honorable Mention for his watercolor of the portico at Duke University. We congratulate John for his efforts and continue to encourage all architects to continue to practice the art of drawing.  As Gene Mackey once said, “Architecture is a life- long learning adventure.  You must continue to learn, and you must continue to draw.”
